Behind the name change
Same heart, new name....
For years, I have poured my heart into designing pieces that reflect style, individuality, and a love for craftsmanship. As I’ve evolved, I felt it was time to bring a more personal touch to the brand—one that truly represents my vision and connection with all of you.
So, I’m thrilled to announce that from 01-01-2025 on, we will be changing our brand name from Nizhoni to "Kitty van Coesant" and I will be creating collections under my own name.
This name change is about more than just changing the name—it’s about reflecting my personal journey and connecting with you on a deeper level.
It’s also about expanding our collections beyond our beautiful handknits, offering complete looks with printed t-shirts, embroidered pieces, colorful prints, and a bit of renewed boho flair. Inspired by my love for Italy, India, and my home in Andalucía, each piece will be crafted with luxurious fabrics and intricate details that tell a story.
Another important reason for this change is our long-standing belief in respecting and celebrating all cultures. The past months , we've received messages from members of the Native American community regarding our use of the name Nizhoni. While our intention was never to cause harm, we sincerely apologize if we have hurt anyone’s feelings. We chose the name ,many years ago,because it means 'beautiful' and is reflecting the values and beauty we wanted our brand to represent.
By using my own name, we’re taking a positive step toward that commitment.
